Monsoon riding tips for electric bikes

Monsoon season in Sri Lanka is no reason to park your Saige. Modern EVs are sealed to IP67 or better - they handle rain better than most petrol bikes.

Tyres - check tread depth and pressure weekly. Wet tarmac is unforgiving and your tyres are your only contact with the road.

Lighting - use your daytime running lights at full brightness. Visibility drops sharply in tropical downpours.

Cleaning - rinse with low-pressure fresh water after salty coastal rides. Avoid pressure washers near the charge port and battery seams.

Charging - never plug or unplug with wet hands or a wet connector. Dry both ends with a clean cloth first.
